Matthew D. Schofield
Formerly the senior designer at Liberty, Matthew has directed numerous high profile retail projects,
including creative collaborations with the likes of Knoll, Victoria and Albert Museum and London
Design Week. He also led the graphics for Liberty’s recent Renaissance, including re-designing the
iconic store’s way finding system, overseeing the design of shop-floor graphics and creating a variety
of advertising and marketing material.
Matthew earned entry to the International Society of Typographic Designers whilst still a student at
the London College of Printing. He was then snapped up straight from college by publishers Dorling
Kindersley, where he stayed for three years, designing a number of award winning reference and
children’s books and working his way up to the role of art editor.
A keen nurturer of talent, Matthew has returned to his former college in recent years to mentor
students on the graphic communication course.
The hallmarks of his work are concept-driven design, sophisticated typography and innovative
production methods.
Please feel free to contact him to discuss freelance or educational projects.
